Results

South Bay Collie Fanciers, San Gabriel Valley Collie Club and California Collie Clan held six specialty shows in three days from March 20-22 in Claremont, California. The rough specials dog, GCH Chelsea Casanova Cowboy was awarded three Best of Breed awards under judges Robette Johns, Loralee Runnels and Hildegarde Morgan. Larkspur Raindrops On Roses was awarded two Best in Specialty awards from the open tri bitch class by judges Debbie Ferguson and Carl Williford. The rough specials bitch, CH Bravos Burlywood Bravada HIC was also awarded a Best of Breed under judge Janice McClary at the last specialty of the weekend.

Closings

There are four shows closing at two locations Wednesday, April 1. On Saturday, April 18, Tri-County Collie Breeders Association of South Eastern New York will have a doubleheader at Sunnyfield Farm in Bedford, New York, with judges Heidi Mendez (AM Breed) and Lori Montero (PM Breed and Juniors).

Two more shows will follow close by at the Fairfield Extension Center in Bethel, Connecticut on Sunday. The AM host is Hartford-Springfield Collie Club with judges Mary Benedict (Breed and Juniors) and Ellen Adomelis (Obedience). The PM host is Collie Club of Connecticut with judge Barbara Schwartz (Breed).

Breeder news

There were three litters reported March 21-27. Pleasant Acre Collies of Pennsylvania is proud to announce a multi-sired litter (Pleasant Acre Claim to Fame and Overland Pleasant Acre Golden Graham -- awaiting DNA results), out of CH Pleasant Acre Shalimar Hallelujah. The breeding produced three rough females, including one blue merle and two tricolors, whelped March 7.

Hi-Crest Collies of New Jersey is proud to announce a new litter sired by CH Hi-Crest Walkin' On Sunshine, out of Milas Enchanted Music. The breeding produced nine rough puppies, including five males -- two tricolors, two sable and whites, and one sable merle, and four females -- three sable and whites and one tri, whelped March 4.

Willow Run Collies of Virginia is proud to announce a new litter sired by Silver GCH Lynloch Steele McDowall, out of CH Wyndeswept Willow. The breeding produced six rough puppies, including three males -- two sables and one tri, and three females -- two sables and one tri, whelped March 3.

There were 42 specialty shows held in February and we present to you the last two shows of that month. On February 26, Arizona Collie Clan held same day specialty shows. At the morning specialty, judge Joyce Van Kirk selected the rough veteran special, CH Gentry's Stars On The Water, as her Best of Breed. At the afternoon specialty, judge Louise Palarik chose the recently finished, CH Blu Ridge Triumph Brighter Than The Sun, as her Best in Specialty.

Results: CCA National Specialty Most Versatile Collie

CH Rosehaevens Summit Nobility, owned and handled by Deanna Levenhagen, earned Most Versatile Collie for the third time with a score of 313.7 at the Collie Club of America National Specialty in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The rough sable and white dog also won the top perfomance award in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2011 and last year in West Springfield, Massachusetts. His full complement of titles includes: MACH, CDX, RAE, MXS, MJG, XF, T2B, HXAsMdM, HIAsd, HSAsd, HXBdM, HIBd, HSBsd, PT, HT.
